Country Cabin Decor With Rustic Bedding
70Whispering Pines Bedding
The primary function of rustic bedding is warmth. Individuals who use this bedding are often in regions that get very cold. In the last few years this bedding has gained in popularity as individuals have sought ways to reduce energy bills. For this reason, the styles and designs of this bedding have grown.
This type of bedding has been used traditionally by individuals who are sleeping in areas without heat. A person in a cabin may not have heat for most of the night when they sleep. They require a method of staying warm and insulated against the chill air as the cabin gets colder.
Western Lodge Bedding
In most cases traditional rustic cabin bedding is composed of warm sheets, a warm blanket or coverlet, and warm pillowcases. In most cases the pillows and sheets are made from flannel or a thermal fabric that insulates the body from cold. The blanket or coverlet is usually made of a heavy wool or heavy thermal quality fabric. When this bedding is used together, it will keep an individual as warm as if they were using a sleeping bag.
The bedding has many designs and patterns available. An individual may wish to create an animal theme and have bears on their bedding. Or, they may wish to stay with a traditional geometric pattern on their bedding. In some cases, the bedding will be a solid fabric that has a contrasting pattern embedded on it.
Two types of people purchase lodge style bedding. One type of person is purchasing the bedding for style. This bedding is selected for the type of fabric that it is made from, the look of the bedding in the room where it is going to be used, and the kind of coverlet that is going on the bed. In most cases a person choosing for style will select a quilted fabric that contains the designs of the cabin bedding but would not be used in a rustic setting.
The function and use of rustic cabin bedding in that setting requires that the bedding be very durable. It must be stain resistant, be able to withstand rigorous use, and be easy to manipulate. Many people who are selecting bedding for this type of setting, look for the warmest bedding they can get that is not terribly heavy. They do not look for quilts, but rather the open weave, thermal warmth of wool.
Bedding that is designed for style does not focus on warmth. The bedding will be used in a room that has a heater and there will be little need for the kind of warmth that a rustic region would require. The bedding is usually not as durable as the traditional rusting bedding because it does not need to be.
When selecting log cabin bedding it is important to decide what the purpose of the bedding will be. Bedding that is functional will not be appropriate in a room that is heated. An individual using this bedding in a warm room will quickly become overheated. The styles available are diverse and will give an individual many choices when they are selecting the bedding quilts for their room. By selecting the appropriate bedding an individual will find that they can enjoy years of use from the bedding.

It's too bad most of this awesome rustic bedding is so warm, not very good for south florida climate.
Very true amelia, but it does keep you nice and toasty up north.
I really enjoyed reading your hub! In the past, rustic bedding has only been reserved for houses and cabins in the woods or for people who enjoy their charming, country style. However, this bedding has been modernized and can be integrated into modern houses as well for a unique rustic touch. Available in a variety of designs, colors and textures, there is something for everyone's taste.

What about quilted bedding? You didn't mention that here and it makes for the best authentic country bedding, I think.
